Behind the scenes with amora
Quite often I see authors posting behind the scene vlogs of their writing process or their office space. I always enjoy these glimpses and think I should do the same! And then I remember I'm a hot mess. I don't have aesthetic writing spaces right now or cute notebooks and pens for note keeping. My writing process would probably horrify any Type A personalities and possibly the Type B personalities as well.
Things are rough over here. What can I say?
All of this is currently exacerbated by the fact we are in the middle of a move, living in a transition home of sorts while we sell our current house and find the new home.
Honestly, my most productive writing sessions usually happen outdoors. Previously, the majority of my writing was done on my wrap around porch. Lately, a lot of it has been happening sitting in my car at 5 am with the windows down, watching the sunrise. It sounds cooler than it is, but it has been an enjoyable way to start my day.
I guess the point is you don't have to have a fancy space to be a writer. You can do it from anywhere.
Which brings me to other news. I've been working hard on Wrangling Red. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to push the release to 2027.
I know. It sucks.
We're all ready to dive into Austin and Dakota's love story. After all, who doesn't love a grumpy cowboy romance with a fiery FMC?
This year has brought a lot of unexpected with it which has definitely messed with my timeline on things. I want to do these characters (and my readers) justice, though, and take the necessary time to deliver a product that's ready to be binged and loved.
To make sure their story gets its deserved attention, I've adjusted my schedule to add an extra writing session each morning as mentioned above, and I have to admit, I've enjoyed starting my day with these characters. I feel like it has made my afternoon sessions with them even more productive as well, and I'm balancing my time better between social media and writing.
