Behind the Book Festival

Last Saturday was spent at the Behind the Book festival.

Every summer the city of Kingsport, TN hosts a festival called Funfest. As of last year, this festival includes a book event, primarily of local authors. I've been honored to be part of the Behind the Book festival last year and again this year.

I love talking to readers. Sometimes (okay, more like all of the time) being an indie author feels like you're constantly screaming into an empty void. But then you go to these events and readers stop by to grab a signed copy of a book one of their friends told them about, or gush over your covers (thank you Lorissa Padilla for being an amazing designer), or tell you how much they enjoyed your book.

I know sometimes readers worry over whether they should tag the author in their social media posts. In my opinion, if you are posting something positive, absolutely tag the author. I have yet to meet an author that doesn't like hearing about how loved their book babies are. That being said, leaving reviews on sites like Goodreads and Amazon are always appreciated.

Until next time,

Amora Blake
